FAQ
What is SIReadinessScan.com?
SIReadinessScan.com runs a free Lite scan of your sending domain before you start outbound email. It checks your SPF, DMARC, MX and BIMI records in DNS. You get a score out of 100, a band and a fix list. The scan does not send mail.
Which checks does the free Lite scan run?
The Lite scan runs four checks: D1 SPF record present (weight 15), D4 DMARC record present (weight 15), D7 MX / null MX coherent (weight 5) and D11 BIMI readiness (weight 5).
Which rule does each check cite?
D1 cites RFC 7208. D4 cites RFC 9989. D7 cites RFC 7505. D11 cites the IETF Internet-Draft, Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI), draft-14. The result table shows the cited rule next to each check.
How is the score calculated?
A passed check earns its full weight. A partial result earns half of its weight. A failed check earns zero. Checks with the status unknown or not applicable are left out of the total. The score is the points earned divided by the points possible, times 100, rounded to one decimal place.
What do the score bands mean?
A score of 80 or more is Ready. A score of 60 or more but under 80 is Ready with fixes. A score under 60 is Not ready. A failed hard gate also sets the band to Not ready.
What does points lost mean?
Each row in the result shows the check weight and the points that check lost. Points lost is the weight minus the points earned. The top 3 fixes are the failed or partial checks that lost the most points.
Do I need to add a DNS record to prove I own the domain?
No. The free Lite scan needs no ownership TXT record. The Standard scan needs a verified ownership TXT record.
Does the Lite scan check DKIM?
No. The Lite scan does not check DKIM. The D3 DKIM check needs the DKIM selectors that your sending tools use, and it runs only in the Standard scan.
What happens if a DNS lookup does not answer in time?
The check gets the status unknown. An unknown check is left out of the score, so it does not cost points.
Is there a limit on scans?
Yes. Scans are rate-limited. If you reach the limit, the scan returns a rate_limited error.
Does SIReadinessScan.com store my domain or my results?
No. The scan stores nothing. There is no report cache, no cookie, no payment and no email capture.
Is the score legal advice?
No. This site and its reports are informational. They are not legal advice. A score is a readiness indicator. It is not an assurance of inbox placement or of regulatory standing.
